What Have I Been Up To?

I know, I know. My personal blog *ehem*THIS ONE*ehem* has been quite boring. I haven't been all emo and angsty. And I haven't been really excited about anything either. Not that my life is boring. On the contrary, my life has been very HECTIC. For one, I have been building my own business. It's a consultancy and events firm. Initially, it was formed to accommodate the consultancy work I have been doing, and to market some IT events here in Davao City. Luckily, somebody mistakenly finally asked me to be a co-coordinator of their wedding. I have been waiting for this chance. While it is very stressful, I find it very exciting and fulfilling. So now, I am focusing on promoting and providing customized wedding coordination services, and I have been getting a lot of inquiries. I already have my first real client. YEY! Somebody also hired me to be their wedding reception's emcee. So again, YEY! And I've been promoting my new business via my blog, and I have just earned my very first cents from it. LOL! Another thing I've been busy with giving talks. So far, I have been to Marbel to talk about Internet Marketing and…

To Marbel and Back

Saturday morning, I slept past 2 am and woke up at 4 am. I had to be at McDo MTS before 5 am. So after taking a bath, with barely enough sleep, and carrying my laptop, I walked from my house to McDonald's. When I arrived there, I ordered and ate my breakfast. While I was eating, Councilor Laviña arrived. And a little after 5 am, Mikko also arrived, and we left right away. We arrived in Marbel (now known as Koronadal City) in a record time of under three hours. I heard that normally it would take at least 3 1/2 hours. Councilor Laviña and Mikko Gozalo We went to Koronadal to attend the Blogging Seminar at the Notre Dame of Marbel University (NDMU). In the morning, Councilor Laviña and several speakers talked about blogging and participatory governance, and other socio-economic-political issues that Mindanao Bloggers should be aware of. Then we had lunch at Lantaw Marbel where the view was great, and the food was not bad. The view and the food at Lantaw Marbel The organizers, speakers, and guests Then, we went back to NDMU and it was time for me to deliver my talks.... Me, me, and…

Busy as a Bee

I know I've been saying I'm really busy. But now... we'll I can say I'm really busy. Here are the things I'm currently doing: coordinating a wedding on February running two online tournaments with a total of 22 participating teams planning a LAN tournament for February actively blogging for 7 blogs preparing for my assigned three for a Blogging Seminar in Marbel preparing for my talk about Entrepreneurship at PWC managing the schedule of my team planning a bloggers' event on March Ang konti lang.... that's just for the first quarter of the year. One indication I'm too busy... no more afternoon naps. :( Another sign... not much blogging for my personal blog (meaning this one). Good luck to me!!!

The History of RiaJose.com

Before RiaJose.com, there was Ria Interactive... It used to be http://riajose.cjb.net... I don't know what happened. I made this site under the mentorship of the great Kuya Andrew who taught me how to manipulate images using Adobe Photoshop and make websites using tadaaa... Macromedia Dreamweaver. LOL! I was in first year college then and very much bored with my life. It started as a website for me and my high school batchmates and evolved into a site about everything that caught my fancy. Notice the sections for entertainment, news, opinion, and advice which have now evolved into niche blogs. The website was last updated in May 2000. Then, while on leave of absence sometime very late 2002, I created RIA{lity} Bites... I made this using Microsoft Frontpage (I know... EW!) and Adobe Photoshop. LOL! It was last updated in November 2003. This then evolved into my very personal blog in LiveJournal. Kuya Andrew read it and made me my first niche blog. Shortly, after... I started more niche blogs and I now have 11 blogs.

Appreciation and Criticism

I know I've made a lot of mistakes and did a lot of things wrong. But I know deep in my heart, I did everything I was supposed to do and on some occasions, even exceed what was required of me. I never asked for anything in return. I do not expect a thank you or a pat on the back because I know I had to do it. Sana lang hindi puro pagkakamali ang mapuna, hindi puro kakulangan ang mapansin, hindi puro negatibo ang masabi. Because I know, despite everything I did wrong, I also did a lot of things right.

Keeping Quiet

Because there are some people who don't think they ever do anything wrong... Because there are times when speaking up will only lead to bigger discussions and fights... Because I know it will not change anything... Because the pain won't go away even when I speak up... Because even if you are wrong, you don't admit it... I am keeping quiet... ...for both our sakes. ...to keep the peace. ...so there will be no arguments.
