Davao Bloggers' Summer Thingamajig

Camwhoring (lots of it), water, good food, exotic food (CROC MEAT!), culture, wild animals, and fun bonding... we did it all in two stressful days under the unforgiving heat of the sun. But it was fun, fun, fun! Participants: Ria, Andrew, Migs, Winston, Blogie, Dom, Chikai, Lovely, Tiara, Maribeth, and Raine Organizer: Jojie Alcantara More detailed write-ups, some videos, and much more photos soon! ;)

Davao Bloggers' Summer Thingamajig

Still not tired from the Davao Food Appreciation Tour 2008, selected Davao Bloggers (including me!) will be having too days of fun and eating on April 4 and 5, 2008! HOOOHA! On April 4, we will be visiting the Campo Agua Resort in Toril. It's gonna be a whole day under the sun eating, bonding, camwhoring, and swimming (for some). Saya-saya!!! And we will eat different tilapia dishes. I looove tilapia (English name: Nile snapper!). Then, on April 5, we will be visiting the Crocodile Park. It's gonna be a day of camwhoring observing wildlife, making chika, and best of all... we're going to eat lunch at Riverwalk where the specialty is crocodile meat. EXCITING! Best of all, some new faces are going to join us. ANG SAYAAA! GRAWRRR! There are still a few slots left, sign up here. Photo of Campo Agua courtesy of Jojie Alcantara.

CACS Skills Batch 3 Legacy Dinner

I was lucky enough to be invited to the Legacy Dinner of Batch 3 of the Skills Course the Center for Asian Culinary Arts. Aside from getting to eat all those yummy foods they served, I hosted the event. It was a virtually fuss-free gig. :) Oh, you're more interested in the food? While waiting for the buffet to open and the other guests to arrive, I munched on a Foccacia served with Chicken Liver Pate and Confit. I'm a fan of liver pate so I thoroughly enjoyed it. The pate had a nice smooth texture and was very flavorful. The focaccia was nothing extraordinary, but it had olives in it so YEY! They served three types of salads: Ceasar's, Waldorf, and Salad ala Greca. They also had California Maki, Manhattan Maki, Tekka Maki, and Tuna Sashimi, and Salmon Sashimi. I only got to try the sashimis because well, there was just to many people lining up and they ran out of the makis. The sashimis were fresh. The tuna was kinda cold and iced, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. There were two types of pastas and two types of sauces. I had Spaghetti with the Pomodoro with Italian Sausage.…

Almost Over

One last dinner, and the first-ever Davao Food Appreciation Tour is over. I'm happy it has been successful and fun. Not to mention the stress will end. But I'm also sad coz Ate Aileen and Kuya Sweetie Jay are going back to Manila soon (not too soon though - YEY! :D ), and Avel and Mars are going back to Gen Santos. Hopefully, we have more participants next time. And of course... more food to enjoy. :)

Happy and Sad

I was at the LandCo Building yesterday for a job interview. I used to work in that building and I was expecting to see some old colleagues and students while I was there. And I was excited about it. When I arrived, I immediately saw a familiar face, that of an old classmate. Weird... After my interview, while waiting for Kuya Andrew to pick me up. I saw a couple of old colleagues. One of them, I was close to. And she's pregnant. I actually knew already that she was pregnant but it was my first time to see her tummy. She was glowing and pretty. I could only wish I would be that pretty IF I get pregnant (millions of years from now). After my colleagues left, my old student Pam arrived. I miss her, huhu... She was happy to see me, and thought I was back to teaching. But I wasn't. Saaad... She had grown so tall and looks more like her sister, Mary now. It has been months since I last saw both of them. I miss them already and their "Wes" and "Kunyangs." I vowed that I would take them out soon.I didn't know I missed…
