Davao Bloggers + Tour Operators Meet-Up

Image courtesy of Christian Te. Earlier today, Davao Bloggers had a very, very, very productive meet-up with some members of the Davao Association of Tour Operators (DATO). In attendance were me, Kuya Andrew, Blogie, Christian, and Dominic. We met up with Edmund of Travel Advantage, Alex of Pacific Royal Wings, Ruben of Surelite Travel and Tours, Pia of ParTravel and Tours, and Dizon of Dizerling Travel and Tours. I am super excited because I think the partnership between us bloggers and them tour operators will be very good for our common goal to promote travel and tourism in Davao City (and the rest of Mindanao). Read more about it over at My Davao City. Again, thank you to Coffee Spot for providing yummy, yummy, yummy food!!! No Water!!!

When I went home last night, I found a sign near the door of the bathroom: "No water on Friday from 8 am to 12 midnight (18 hours, in Ulas, Bangkal, Matina and Downtown). Please wake up early to take a bath. Para mabango." It made me laugh. Hehe... Then, I started to worry. I was already 2 am and there was going to be no water starting at 8 am. I only had a few hours to sleep. Nohooo... So today, I woke up at around 7 am, been at the office since 8 am. I am very tired, and sleepy!!! Knowing DCWD they only made that announcement to warn the people that water will be turned off in those areas for a short period within the 18 hours and not during the entire 18 hours, diba? Diba? Diba? SANA!!!

Hectic Day!

Aside from today being the Judgment Day for Erap, it is a hectic day for me. Of course I have to blog about the verdict. Thanks to my friends over at Twitter for the updates. Then, me and Kuya Andrew have to do a task for Mam Bebs Bakery. Then, I have to attend a City Council Committee Hearing. Then, I have to resume working online for my blogs. NOHOOO!!! I only had a couple of hours of sleep!

Blogging in Vietnam and Davao City

In Vietnam, young bloggers are starting a revolution. Bloggers are giving new meaning to journalism... pushing aside the state-run media and giving the Vietnamese new sources of news and information. Meanwhile, here in Davao City, SunStar columnist Dorothy Bangayan did a piece on blogging and blogs focusing on Davao-based blogs. And I'm happy to note that two of my six blogs were mentioned as worthy of being read... MyDavaoCity.com -- This is also another Davao City blog posted by a group of bloggers. It also got a list of small directory going for wifi hotspots and resorts although not yet completely updated. www.shopchicks.com -- The blogger is a fashionista and it shows with posts of the latest styles. This one takes on a new definition of window shopping. My name wasn't mentioned but I don't care. Hehe... Other blogs mentioned were Ang Dabawenyo, Word God Spells, Davao's Food Huntress, Letters to Mikee, Davao Diaries, Mom About Town, Dabawenya, and Jobs For Davao. The article also mentioned the Davao Blogs Aggregator Site, the Mindanao Bloggers Blog, and the upcoming Mindanao Bloggers' Summit. The article actually made me think about making my own top Davao Blogs. Hmmm... might post one soon.
