Crazy Days Ahead

This week began well. Better than most, I must say. But here's what's in store for me until the end of September: Bake cookies, eclairs, brownies, and butterscotch bars at least twice a week Website updates and editing and uploading of photos for the Metro Card Club Davao site Cover and take photos of Sunday events at the Metro, and update the league tally twice a week Attend the Make Your Own Havaianas event and make a write up Prepare for our batch's legacy buffet (there should be sub-bullets here but that would bore you) Prepare, edit, and finalize two company profiles Track the performance of a client's contractor Write two articles a week for my newspaper column Blog Campaign for the Philippine Blog Awards Bloggers' Choice Special Award :P Organize and coordinate two upcoming bloggers' events Attempt to have some sort of social life It's really gonna be very crazy. But I gotta a feeling... I think it's gonna be a great September. ;-) That's it. For now. Wish me luck people. :)

Bloggers' Choice Special Award

Hi there readers! Yes, it's me, the one and only Diyosa Maria "Ria" A. Jose. I am expressing my intent to join the Philippine Blog Awards 2009 Bloggers' Choice Special Award (NATIONAL ). Why? Because I want to. It's a special award that involves bloggers voting their choice of blogger who will get the award. Last year my special friend slash fake boyfriend Chairell Winston "Batang Yagit" Almendras, won the award. I believe I can win it this year. Libre naman mangarap diba? I have been blogging for a long time, and have been maintaining a lot of bloggers. Last year, I had 12 nominations but didn't win anything. Guess I'm one of the better bloggers but not the best at any of my niches. LOL! So this year, I'm gunning for the Bloggers' Choice Award. I am joining using this blog, but also in behalf of the more than 10 other blogs I own, maintain, and manage. Nananawagan po ako sa lahat ng aking mga kamag-anak (there's at least 3 of you who blog), kaibigan (ang dami niyo promise), taga-hanga (sana meron kahit isa), at kung sinu-sino pang mga bloggers na maaaring bumoto sa akin, suportahan at iboto niyo…

Guess that Cloodle!

So we attended a children's party over at Jim Haw's house, and we ended up playing a board game. We played Cranium, a fun mix of all the games we usually play: Charades, Pictionary, Guess that Song, Trivia, and more. Brendel was really good in humming. And Jim Haw? He's an encyclopedia. PFT! Kuya Andrew, of course, did well in drawing stuff. Lyle was good at sensing which trivia questions are trick questions. Some people, they sucked at spelling. LOL! I was the only one who didn't win a single game. :'( What made the game really fun were the boo-boos we made along the way. Chattee did a really fun acting out of "Karaoke Bar." LOL! And the clay sculptures were hilarious. Try sculpting on clay the expression "Can of worms." In a minute! Here are some samples of what some of us drew... try guessing what they are: (The clue/category for all is "thing" except for B which is a "band.") FUN TIMES!

Amazed at Love

I am amazed at how love works. Among the billions of people in this world, one person finds and chooses another. Who, in turn, finds and chooses him. Amazing! Billions of people. Each unique. In seven continents. Separated by oceans. And yet people find each other. Some, have known each other for a time and suddenly realize that they love each other. But others, through serendipity, forces of nature, and chance... Even when the odds are against them, they somehow find each other and choose to be together. I find love, it's oddities and complications, and everything in between very puzzling. A mystery. Perplexing and yet very inspiring. Stories of friends, relatives, clients, and random strangers vary. From the simple to the epics. Each one different. But all of them end up somehow finding the one who is also looking for them. Amazing! Post inspired by my cousin's marriage proposal made of FAIL but full of LOLS! Congratulations to Brian! And lots of good luck to Aimee! :) Dili pa too late to back out. HAHA!

5 Months Since

5 months ago, our paths crossed. And it has been a very bumpy ride. There are a thousand reasons not to love you, but I still choose to remain here, alone in my commitment to you. Not blind to reality but hoping against hope. If I were a pious person, all my prayers would be about you, for you... but I am not pious. If I were a believer of fate, destiny, and signs, I'd be holding on the to faith that somehow, things will go my way. But I am not a believer. All I have is hope. Hope that either I will get tired or that you will give us a chance. And I will hold on to that for as long as I can. Whichever comes first, I hope it will make me happy. It's been five months. But I am not tired yet. Not yet.

Friendship Kayak

Last night, I received a message from Ate Jojie Alcantara inviting us bloggers to the press conference for Friendship Kayak. Kuya Andrew, Chattee, and I were a bit late when we arrived at the event shortly after 11 this morning. But we didn't miss a lot. The three paddlers, Singaporean motivational speaker and accomplished adventurer Khoo Swee Chiow, Visayan Buzzy Budlong, Dabawenyo Arnel Gabutero and their support boat staff have just arrived at the shore of the Pearl Farm Marina. After a brief lunch, we gathered for the press con. Expedition Manager Toby Martin kicked things off by explaining what the Friendship Kayak is. Last year, while visiting the Philippines for a talk, Swee Chiow, having climbed the seven summits in one year and holding two Guiness Book of World Records titles, was inspired to have another great adventure. Fascinated by the Philippines' 7,107 islands, Swee Chiow proposed the idea of kayaking through the archipelago. Through various circumstances, Swee Chiow teamed with Toby, and fellow paddlers Buzzy and Arnel and planned to kayak through the archipelago from August to November 2009, coinciding with the 40 years of friendship between the Philippines and Singapore. Also going on board for the adventure…
