How 2008 Changed My Life

Subtitle: An Obligatory New Year Post

January
The year didn’t really start start out with a bang. I was a pretty boring month and one of my more interesting blog posts was a LOL Google Adsense moment. But it was also the month I started on a new business which was jumpstarted by planning and coordinating my cousin’s wedding. I also bought myself a belated Christmas gift which has helped a lot in my blogging.

February

February was a defining month for me. After the success of my cousin’s wedding, I decided to do the leap and be a wedding coordinator. It was also the time I tried out and enjoyed speed dating. Hope there’s another one this year.

March
March was remarkable mostly because of work and blogging-related things, but also because I was happy. For the first time in a long time, I was truly happy. I cannot remember why I wrote that entry, but I can vaguely remember what I felt back then. And somehow that makes me happy right now, and gives me hope that I can be where I was back then. Maybe coz it was my ex’s and my 6th “monthsary”? No? Thought so! HAR!

April

by Digital Puto
April was when my life drastically changed online and offline. Before the frenzy that was iBlog4, I broke up with my ex (who was my first boyfriend (UNSURE)), which was kinda devastating. I had to forge ahead as I had to go to Manila for iBlog 4. My bestfriend’s return to Davao gave me a new perspective in life, which helped a lot in moving on from my crappy ex. (BITTER MUCH!)

April 26, 2008 I went to Manila with my blogging buddies Kuya Andrew, Blogie, Winston, and Migs after not going back for a while. And it was life-changing. I sound OA but life-changing is an understatement, I tell you. I gained tons of new friends, experienced a lot of new things, and had the BEST BIRTHDAY EVER! I met most of my new best buddies during that trip. You guys know who you are. (COZY) And it affirmed for me that I was on the right path as a blogger all thanks to Tita Janette for the best speaking gig any blogger could have.

May

May was awesome as I had the best kilig moment I will prolly ever have in my life with my idol MLQ3. My cousins and I embarked on a misadventure, which included me almost getting run over by a motorcycle, me overcoming my fear of heights… somehow, and tons of camwhoring caught on video. It was the month of my dad’s death anniversary during which I realized a lot of things, including the fact that my aunts read my blog. LOLS! May was also the month pretended to have mah own cooking show and joined the Goya Dark Mint madness.

June

I began June with a demonstration of my gift-wrapping skillz and ended it with a demo of another skill. Within the month, I organized the Davao Bloggers’ Party, reconnected to my personal history, and my beloved city’s history.

July
I went back to Manila last July ending almost a month dedicated to DotA and gaming. During that same trip, me and mah girls p0yt and Kring painted the town red together with halay boy BillyCoy and Camphone Parrazi Fritz. It wasn’t really a wild night but it was one of the best, most fun nights I had the past year. It was also the first time photos of my boobage being groped were released online. LOLS! I also wrote a heartfelt letter to my ex and spent monnies for an overnight stay at a random hotel… just coz. 😛

August

Life was hectic in August mainly because we were rushing to finish stuff in time for WordCamp Philippines 2008. But I did find time to gain new friends, and enjoy the beauty of Davao. It was most memorable because I gained a new best buddy who somehow felt the void of having no boyfriend and being far from my best friends. A trip to Manila also reunited me and mah girls for a good old not so wholesome pajama party, and gave me the opportunity to celebrate with my mentor Ate Aileen on her birthday. It ended with the birth of a new godchild Cai, and the EPIC that was the Eraserheads Reunion Concert.

September

September was memorable for tons of reasons. One of which, a lot of bloggers will never ever forget: WordCamp Philippines 2008! Needless to say, as an organizer, it was one of my best achievements as a person, as a blogger, and as an events organizer… EVER! The month ended with 10 of my blogs and posts being nominated for the Philippine Blog Awards 2008. I didan’t win anything but that gave me the distinction of being the biggest loser of the night. LOL! My DotA boys also did a very heartwarming thing that made me very, very happy. 🙂

October

October was the month Gwing and I took camwhoring to the next level. HAR! I also got to exhibit some of my poker skills and baccarat knowledge, and video editing skills for my cousin abroad.

November
November became hectic because of work and a newfound hobby, poker. November was also the month I gave honor to my Mommy, the person who took and continues to take good care of me, even as I am already very old and very much pasaway.

But it was most memorable because I seized the day and did what had to be done. I was and will always be proud to have fought the hard fight with MLQ3, Marck, Arbet, Richard Rivera, Edwin Lacierda, and Jeremy Gatdula.

December
Christmas
The end of the year was a flurry of activities and and emo-ness and ranting. I was busy with two weddings and many other things, but I wasn’t too busy for my Daddy who, like Mommy, celebrated his 60th birthday. Christmas was all food, food, food… but it was boring. I did receive really good gifts from my aunts Mam Bebs, Ninang Ivi, and Tita Teri. New Year, well, it was fun and interesting. 😉

new year

It was a memorable and definitely life-changing year. It’s hard to imagine I can have a busier, more productive, and better year… but maybe I can. Here’s to 2008 and all it’s ups and downs and the people who made it worth living through. 😉
