A Happy, Happy New Year at Eden Nature Park

For the second time, our family spent New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day at Eden Nature Park and we had a grand time. Last year, me and my cousins were kinda resistant to the idea thinking it would be a hassle to spend it in a resort with tons of other people. You see we usually spend it at Lola’s house with just the family. But we were proven wrong as we had a lot of fun during the countdown. In fact some of my titos and titas danced wantonly on the dance floor while us nephews and nieces spent time in the sidelines. HAHA!

Anyway, we spent it at Eden again this year. And it was fun. I rode with Kuya Andrew‘s family and we arrived there at around 3 pm and immediately had snacks. I had the Ham and Cheese Sandwich. It was ok. I heard that the Turon and the Cheeseburger were really good though.

I was assigned to room Gardenia 5. Since I was not feeling well, I spent the afternoon sleeping. Wawa me… While my cousins went to the fishing village to fish for tilapia. Wawa rin mga tilapia… they died and were eaten!

At around 6 pm, we started preparing to attend the 7 pm mass. We were late for the mass. LOL!

After the mass, we ate dinner. I loved the salad bar with all the fresh vegetables and the many choices of dressings. My favorite is the sesame dressing. Then I had some ham, cold cuts, and chicken liver pate.

Some of the main dishes were not so yummy but I love the seafood medley with salmon, lapu-lapu, squid, and shrimps. YUMMYYY! It’s sauce was creamy yet not too rich. I also liked the Scampi Pasta which was a bit spicy. The stuffed mushrooms were also good but overwhelming. My cousins loved that many, many, many lechon that were served throughout the night.

I didn’t eat any desserts as I had tonsilitis. AMF! After eating, I wasn’t feeling well so I returned to the room where I rested until 11 pm. I went back to the party a little after 11 pm. My cousin’s won some stuff from the raffle. The best one was an overnight stay for two at the Grand Regal Hotel. NICE!

After the raffle, some of my cousins and I went to the playground to enjoy the Indiana Jones ride. It was heart-pounding but so much fun. It’s one of my favorites in Eden.

Then, it was countdown time. We danced and counted down the last 10 minutes of 2007. The band was good. The host was kinda annoying though. LOL!

After the countdown, we stayed in the Vista Restaurant, ate late night snacks. I had the Crispy Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato Sandwich. SARAP! After eating, we went back to our rooms, then went right back out to play poker. But not a lot of us were in the mood so we played Cranium instead. My team sucked big time. HAHA!

After playing, we all slept. It was very cool in Eden that we didn’t even have to use the electric fans. And the windows were not fully open. BRRR…

In the morning, we just ate breakfast then went back to the our homes.

Next year, we might spend New Year at Eden again. Or if all goes well, Hong Kong or Macau. HAHA!
