No Softdrinks, No Iced Tea for February

I have decided to resolve to do something or not do something for each month of 2010. In keeping with the fitness movement among the Davao Bloggers, I have decided to have a healthy one this February. I resolved not to drink any softrdrinks or iced tea for an entire month. I have been doing great. Even when I eat fastfood, I don't drink soda. I also don't drink iced tea even when it's free and bottomless at the poker club. I kinda faltered during Humba Night last February 13 at Jim's house. They had 3 1.5 liter bottles of COKE ZERO! And ice! RAWR! Now I can't wait for February to end. I have already decided on what I will do for March. I won't eat rice. That will be so much torture! Wish me luck! Got any challenges for me to do for the following months? It may be anything such as watch a movie twice a week, write a poem once a week, or go home before 3 am everyday. Post your suggestions here. PS Suggestions for no alcohol or no boys won't be accepted. Haha! :P

Hip-Hop Classes

I love dancing. I don't think I can ever say that enough. Anyhoo, I risked being humiliated and possible severe muscle pain when I joined my friends at the Project Kool-lab Hip-Hop Classes last Saturday at Metro Lifestyle Fitness Center. It is conducted by the Groove Unlimited Dance Community, headed by Bryan Grandeza. And well, it was not an utter epic failure. Or so I'd like to think. We had fun, yes? And it was very challenging. More importantly, we sweated (is that even a word?). A LOT! Before we proceed, let's play a game of spot the bloggers... We danced or attempted to dance to Janet Jackson's "Daybreak." That entire routine, as choreographed by Bryan, took a few minutes to perform, but it took us more than an hour and a lot of sweat and embarrassment to even just get a grasp of what we're supposed to do. FAIL! LOL! Most of us were cunning enough to stay away and position ourselves right at the back of the more skilled students. HAHA! I'll give you a clue though, I was one of the few wearing p*k-p*k shorts and the other bloggers are in the same group. We're kind of…

Feeling Ko Lang Sikat Ako

This is in response to my dear Kring's EPIC Alam Mong Sikat Ka Kung post. Hindi ko ALAM na sikat ako... FEELING ko lang sikat ako. Let's assess... I dun have a Fan Page, except for my FB Fan Page with less than 100 fans that my cousin made for me. And I think half of the fans are my relatives. AWTS. I do have haters. Online. And offline. It's supposed to be a sad thing, really. But then again, at least I have people wasting their time and energy spewing out lies and venom against me. Masyado silang bored, I think. Errr... I have never been invited to guest in a TV show, not even in a radio show. :( But I was interviewed by Inquirer once. And I have a video to prove it. But I wasn't paid any TF. FAIL! But waiiit... I'm invited to events and poker tournaments and shiz... with TF yun. Does that count? Wala akong billboard. But I dream to have one someday. Ilusyonada! Googleable naman yata ako. Pag nag type ka ng "ria j" lalabas ang "ria jose." And it has 4,200,000 results. Pero when you type "ma," "maguindanao massacre" ang lalabas.…

Belly-Dancing Classes

I have always wanted to take up dance classes in lieu of going to the gym. Because I want to stay fit and... I love to dance. I actually wanted to take ballroom dancing classes, but I cannot find any good classes here in Davao City. This year, I resolved to take any dance classes. Luckily, my Mommy has been taking belly-dancing for years and she informed me of the Basic Belly-Dancing Classes at the LCB Performing Arts Foundation. Last Wednesday, I took my first class and I liked it. Wasn't able to enjoy it because it was very challenging. I had to take note of arm movement, footwork, belly movement, and controlling my chest and hips all at the same time. Rawrrr... My instructor is very sexeh! VERY! She has a really nice tummy and arms, and I want those. My Mommy has told me that Belly-Dancing isolates the muscles and makes it toned. I hope it works for me. I will have my next class on Monday. We will be having classes every Monday and Wednesday. Hope I survive. Up next, Hip-Hop Classes on Saturday at the gym! :) LCB Performing Arts Center also offers ballet, jazz, tap,…

Valentine's Day

I will probably love this movie... The song and the trailer are enough to make me love the movie. I know... I'm mababaw. I enjoy watching romantic movies. Plus there's Julia Roberts, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Alba, Patrick Dempsey, Jamie Foxx, and Ashton Kutcher. And is that Mc Steamy? OH YEAH! :) And I see mah love Topher Grace and the diva Queen Latifah in the credits. <3 "Love is the only shocking act left on the planet." LOVE THAT LINE! And no, Jessica Biel's character... it's not our fault we're alone on Valentine's Day. See you at the cinema! :)

Valentine's Date

Inspired by Ate Aileen and Kuya Jay's love story, I asked myself, have I ever had a Valentine's date? And the answer was a big no. OUCH! But some very interesting things happened to me in past Valentine's Days. We used to spent it in school for Teachers' Day, right? I think I received one or two flowers during those days. When I was in Fourth Year High School, we had PMT (CAT) Graduation practice on February 14, 1999. On that day, I received news that I passed the Ateneo College Entrance Test and I was Freshman Merit Scholar. Good news, right? It was also the day that a "suitor" of mine and I had a nice heartfelt talk where he gave me roses and I realized, I didn't like him much to commit to him. In college, I would usually spend Valentine's Day alone or eating out with cousins. In 2008, I spent it with my cousins and aunts. It was me and the rest of us singles eating a lot of steak and seafoods. YUM! Of the four of us present that day, only Kuya Andrew and I remain single. LOL! I wasn't technically single that time, but…
