Through The Fire

It's done and over with. I, along with several other hard-working members of the organization have been unceremoniously kicked out. When I joined JCI Davaoena Daba Daba, I had one goal: to challenge myself. And what a challenge it has been. From being a new member to a Deputy member of the Board of the Directors to being appointed as Secretary-General, National Chair, and Area Director. There is so much that can be said about the struggles I have been through as a member. So much intrigue, so much mud-slinging and character assassination has been done to discredit me. I have tried to rise above it all as I stood by my commitment as a JCI Member. I would like to believe that I have performed my duties to the best of my abilities keeping in mind that my goal was to challenge myself. And I don't regret any of it, as I was able to work with and be with some of the best people I could have never met had it not been for JCI. Despite all of the mud thrown at us, we kept our silence, we chose the higher ground. We refused to fight but instead…

My First Time in Bohol

Bohol One of the most popular places in the Philippines is Bohol. It's iconic Chocolate Hills is part of almost every Philippine Tourism campaign. And why not? It is a breath-taking view. I recently had the opportunity to visit Bohol and it was a journey worth taking. From Davao to Bohol Davao to Cebu via Airphil Express There are no direct flights to Bohol yet. But getting there is quite convenient. First, take a flight to Cebu. The flight takes around 45 minutes. Once you reach Cebu, make your way to the Pier. There are several piers, and you can go to either Pier 1 or Pier 4 for the fast crafts or fast ferries. Depending on your budget and schedule, you may take any of those listed here. All fast crafts take around 2 hours to reach Bohol. The ride is quite long but you will barely feel the waves or the length of travel. Take a quick nap or chat with your travel companions. Better yet... enjoy the view. I highly recommended taking the luxurious 1st class seats of Oceanjet because lookie... Oceanjet's First Class Seats Tagbilaran City Bohol is a quaint island province composed of Tagbilaran City…

Being Blonde and Being Bold

Ria Jose as a BlondeHair by Envy Me Salon I have to be honest, I went blonde because I caved in to peer pressure. Lelz! The moment I saw four of my friends go blonde and they didn't look bad at all... I decided I'd go for it and that the Nicki Minaj Concert would be the best alibi for it. I had about one week to think about it but decided that since I had declared I would do it, I had to do it. With my fingers crossed, I went blonde. It wasn't really something I was comfortable about. And until now, I must admit I'm not to confident about it. But I like it. I like how, at 30 years old, I am still able to go beyond my comfort zone and do something outrageous. Not as outrageous as some people would think but for me going blonde is a bold step. Being the vain person that I am, going blonde means sticking out, and not always in a good way. Some people actually tease me that I look darker or that I look weird. It took a while for my daddy absorb that I actually dyed…

A Very Belated 30th Year Post

In the past few years, I'd usually publish some blog posts around the time of my birthday recalling events and memories from the past year. I have neglected to do this in honor of my 30th birthday. BOO TO ME! Weeks before my grand 30th birthday, I have already planned to make a video instead of blog posts since I had such a hectic, fun, and super busy year leading up to my 30th birthday. So here it is... To my family and friends, thank you for another memorable year! I won't be able to name all of you since there's so plenty of you. Most of you are in the video... some of you are not. But I love you all dearly, nonetheless. Yes, even the critics, haters, and stressors. And thank you, thank you, thank you for a wonderful birthday, even though it was spent working! ;) Looking forward to more than 525,600 minutes filled with memories, lessons, laughter, tears, and love with all of you. Live. Love. Learn.

To The Guy Who Got Me So Confused

Dear You, You know who you are but I'm quite sure you don't read my blog so whatever. ;) First off, wag mo masyadong i-feel ang moment, ok? Haha! I'd like you to know I'm so frustrated by the entire situation but I'm thankful you finally had the guts to be honest. When you first approached me, it was obvious you liked me. You never denied it. I wasn't really into you but you seemed like you were a nice guy. And even my guy friends told me you seemed sincere. I told you I wasn't ready for a commitment or anything serious. And I meant it. I don't regret telling you that. And yet you tried to win me over. A for effort! Actually, A plus kung tutuusin. Bilib pati mga tao sa paligid ko. Wala pang lalakeng nag-effort ng ganun ka bongga. You didn't do anything grand or extra special but you were there. A constant presence (so to speak) in my life. Just when I was about to change my mind and let you into my life, the tides changed. The calls became fewer and the conversations started getting colder. You admit that your ex, the one…
