Healthy Tuna Recipe

(without photos) Here's a simple Tuna Recipe for those who are on a diet. This is dedicated to my friend Poyt Ingredients: 1 can tuna in water (NOT BRINE or oil, drain) half a can of mushrooms half a clove of medium-sized garlic, chopped 5 - 10 basil leaves, chpped (depending on how much you love basil) 1 Tbsp Japanese soy sauce 1 tsp Balsamic Vinegar Salt and Pepper Olive Oil Procedure: Heat some olive oil in a sauce over medium heat. Saute the garlic. Do not burn or toast. Add the mushrooms and saute. Add the tuna. Saute. Season with the soy sauce and vinegar. Cook for 5 - 10 minutes while occasionally stirring. Add more soy say and vinegar if necessary. Season with salt and pepper. Transfer to serving plate. Some notes: This recipe does not work with other types of vinegar. Fresh basil is preferred over dried basil. Extra virgin olive oil is healthier than Virgin Olive Oil. Japanese soy sauce is Kikoman. :P Tbsp = Tablespoon; tsp = teaspoon; 3 tsps = 1 Tbsp Happy dieting eating! :)

Halo-Halo

Halo-halo is a Filipino dessert concoction composed of various preserved fruits, and other sweet ingredients topped with crushed ice, milk, and ice cream. The ice cream flavor is usually ube (yam). Ever since a crushed ice store opened near our subdivision, my aunts would include a make your own halo-halo station in our family gatherings. There was one during our Fathers' Day dinner. I had Sweetened Bananas, Kaong, Nata de Coco, Langka, Ube, and Sago in mine. I topped it with liberal amounts of corn flakes, some crushed ice, evaporated milk, and one scoop of ube ice cream. My other cousins had their own variations... Why did I blog about this? Coz it's hot today and I want some halo-halo again!!!

Dieting For Vanity's Sake

Yeah, yeah, yeah... been starving myself since the other day. Tuesday I didn't eat ANYTHING for dinner except some crackers and two pieces of oatmeal cookies. Today I ate tocino and a quarter cup of rice for lunch, luglug for dinner (at 5 pm!), and some slices of wheat bread. WHY YOU ASK?! Because I'm vain! I'm dieting so I could but new clothes and fit them well. And yeah, I think it's time to find a new boy. And boys nowadays are pretty much attracted to the thin types... so yeah, I'm dieting for them too. I am LOL'ing at myself now coz I know that clothes and boys won't really make me a better person, or happier. But yeah, I'm dieting coz I want them boys and clothes. :P I have resolved, however, not to starve myself. Rather, I'll eat but eat only healthy food and lessen consumption of indulgences such as chocolate, desserts, coffee, and chichirya. So here's to me trying to lose weight yet again... and this time it's for clothes and boys!

Goya Dark Mint Chocolates and More Goya!

Everybody first heard about Goya Dark Mint when AJ twitted about it a few weeks ago and also blogged about. Thus, began the bloggers' search for the mysterious Goya Dark Mint. Goya Dark Mint intrigued a lot of us since Goya is a local brand of chocolates and local dark chocolates with mint are unheard of. The Philippines isn't exactly known for high end chocolates. What were used to are local chocolates with a distinct flavor and texture that tastes better when not refrigerated. Goya is a brand I grew up with. I have recently seen and tasted the latest reformulated and repackaged good old Goya Milk Chocolate... ...and it didn't disappoint. Compared to the old Goya, it had a smoother texture. I can't exactly recall how the old Goya tastes, but this one is gave me a good chocolate fix for only PhP 14.75! Then, I saw they had a new variant... Dark Chocolate! As a dark chocolate lover... I just had to try it out. It's not as bitter or intoxicating as other dark chocolates I've tasted, but it's good enough. It packs in enough punch to give me a sugar rush. And it's only PhP 16.75! Goya…
