5 Day Diet Challenge

I don't think my body has quite recovered from the epic legend that was the Davao Food Appreciation Tour 2010. It was THREE WHOLE DAYS OF EATING! :-& And as if that's not bad enough for my quest for a sexy body, I spend a lot of time with my blogger friends and cousins who love to eat. Undeniably, I love to eat too. So when they invite to eat maki rolls and frozen yoghurt at 10 pm, I go with them with little protest. And to make things worse, I went to Cebu last weekend. It was a work-related trip peppered with too much eating. I ate tons of Crispy Pata and some Taba ng Talangka among other things. SUE ME! I almost went wild when I saw there was Starbucks and Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, but quickly realized I can't have coffee this May. So I drank tons of iced and ice-blended chocolate instead. FAIIIIL! I ATE A LOT! IN A MONTH! BUUUUUUUSHIIIIIIIIT! And I'm about to take another eating tour again. This weekend. In Davao, General Santos, and Lake Sebu. Yes, that's three places. HOLY MOLEY! I'm gonna have a 38 waistline again. NOOOOO! In order…

Maki Rolls and Frozen Yoghurt

I spent most of the day working online and attending a product launching. Dinner was superb. It was a buffet. There was potato salad and roast beef. I ate a lot. FAIL! After the event, the team went to Kangaroo Coffee for a brief meeting regarding WordCamp Ph 2010. I faltered on my no coffee rule. But I took just one teeny tiny sip. So I don't think I failed yet. Everybody else left after the meeting and I was working on some blogs and blog posts when Kuya Andrew invited me to do nothing with Ate Joanna. They just wanted to go out and didn't have anything planned. After a few minutes, they picked me up. They told me we were going to Coffee Cat. But Ate Joanna got excited and thought of this... So we went to Nonki, despite protests coming from me, and ordered Crunchy Roll. We also decided to have some of their Salmon Cheese Roll. DIET MEGA FAIL! Then, we proceeded to Coffee Cat where I just couldn't resist having some frozen yoghurt. I topped it with mango, cereal, and almonds. YUMMY! Diet or no diet, who can resist this... HAY! I have weird cousins.…

Coffee

No Coffee for May

This is a very hard resolution for me to make. But one that I absolutely must do. Ouch! For the month of May, no coffee for me. SAAAD! It's another discpline exercise I'm doing. I was successful for February and March but I failed my no fried chicken exercise in April. So I must, must, muuuust succeed again this month. So, medyo paalam muna to my favorite offices: Kangaroo Coffee Company and Kopi Roti. I might visit you sometimes this month, but I won't be there as much as I do. Wish me luck! :) Latte art by Kangaroo Coffee Company.

No Fried Chicken this April

After much success with No Softdrinks in February and No Rice in March, I am eating no fried chicken this April. I just realized how much fried chicken I eat. :-& It's not healthy at all. I think I eat at Jollibee or McDonald's at least twice a week. And I usually order 2 pieces of fried chicken. Sorry na. Add to that the occasional meals at Sunburst, Papa Ching's, Yellow Fin, and other local restaurants that serve yummy greaseless fried chicken. So for the month of April, I am not eating any fried chicken. Wish me luck! :)

Kalilangan 2010 Street Dancing in General Santos City

Kalilangan Festival in General Santos City Day 4

Wearing our Kalilangan shirts and our best mainit sa labas outfits, we headed to Marasa Grill for a sumptuous Filipino lunch. I had a hearty hearty hearty lunch as I ate kinilaw, ensaladang talong, grilled tuna, and mango float. :) Many thanks to Ms. Kring Macion for that wonderful lunch! And oh, we met some new friends... the Manila travel bloggers Dong Ho, Norman, Chidmark, and another one whose name escapes me right now. Sorry na po. We agreed to meet up in Davao after the Kalilangan. Ate Jinky, Kyaw, and Sheng also ate lunch with us. Siyempre, fab sisters Orman and Avel with Marz were there. After we headed to Pioneer Street to witness the Kadsagayan and Open Category Street Dancing Competition. I was deeply overwhelmed. The celebration of the rich culture of Mindanao was really, really fun to watch. And I admire the hardwork and determination of all the participants. And under the piercing heat of the sun, too. BRAVO! But wait... we proceeded to the Oval for the Street Dancing Showdown and Closing Ceremonies. And oh my goodness... what I saw amazed me even more. The contingents really gave all their best. Not just in performing, but…

Curacha in Olive Oil and Garlic

Kalilangan Festival in General Santos City Day 2

I didn't really do anything Gen San yesterday, February 25, 2010, except enjoy its food and the company of its people. I started the day early with a cup of coffee and some online work at Coffee Club 101 at Robinson's Place with Angel and Chattee. Then, I had very delicious lunch at Grab a Crab with my cousin, Nina and her husband Abe. We had Baked Scallops, Hototay Soup, Veggies, and Deep Fried Crabs. SUPER YUMMY!!! My favorite was the Baked Scallops it was so delicious! The crabs were also meaty, tasty, and not dry or overcooked. Then, I met up with a friend at Blu Gre and we had a fantastic guy conversation. The rest of the Davao Bloggers group followed and we ended by camwhoring and working online while waiting for the Manansala sisters. I was also able to buy a new headband and a top for belly-dancing at the Lonely Planet store. And we tried out the really yummy Bacon Melt Sandwich at Ice Crops. I love bacon and cheese. <3 And the bread was super soft and tasty! I heard the bread was bought from Giacomino's Pizza. Then we headed to O-ohlang Fishing Village Grill…
