Busy and long day. We dropped by Lava Fest and went cafe hopping.
Cafe Larisse
First, we had lunch at Cafe Larisse. I fear we ordered too much. Individually, the dishes were ok. The Chicken Skin was a good appetizer and would definitely order it again if I go back to Cafe Larisse. We also had Lechon Kawali and Balbacua. The combination of fried and oily was a little bit too much. Maybe we should have skipped the Lechon Kawali. Or opted for a less oily soup or stew.
Lava Fest
Next, we went back to La Herencia for Lava Fest. Lava Fest is an art fair, the first one I attended in a while. And I thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved the mix of different media and various styles. There were modern, pop art, traditional sketches, abstracts, charcoal sketches, and more. I look forward to seeing more works by Davao artists.
I also enjoyed browsing through the merch of local art merchants. There were stickers, key rings, memo pads, and other interesting stuff. This made me excited for future art events and art fairs in Davao.
Ad Astra Sourdough
It was a bit early for our meetup with our cousins so we went to Ad Astra Sourdough to try their pastries. It was interesting to try viennoisserie made with sourdough. As it turns out, there was also a small cafe inside Calibrated Coffee. So I also tried their Spanish Latte.
Purge Coffee Roaster
Then, we met up with our cousins at Purge Coffee Roaster. It is, indisputably, the best coffee roaster in Davao. We had coffee and tried their Banana Waffles, as well. I had the Spanish Latte and loved it. Need to go back again soon to try their other coffee drinks.
Cheese Wheel Pasta
Finally, we had dinner at The American Backyard. We had the Cheese Wheel Pasta with Truffles and it did not disappoint. Will definitely go back just for it.

It was a long work day but I really enjoyed the day. Definitely loved Lava Fest and enjoyed trying all the beverages and food I had the entire day.
