Cafe Hopping [January 17 Video Diary]

Since college, my cousins and I spend a lot of time trying new food or sometimes going back to our favorite food spots. We would visit 2 to 3 (or more) cafes and restaurants in a day. It is one of the reasons why we opened the My Davao City Blog. We have been “cafe hopping” even before the term came to be. We haven’t since the pandemic.

This year, we started our foodie adventures at 2 spots I have never tried.

Aloha Kakou

First, we had coffee at Aloha Kakou at Casabella 2. I tried their Spanish Latte and their pasta. My cousin had their Aloha Pork Belly. Not bad. I love the place and the ambiance. The food is ok. We will probably go back soon.

Wood and Coffee

We skipped dinner, picked up another cousin and a niece and we headed to Wood and Coffee. It is out of the way, located in Magtuod. The place is gorgeous.

I had coffee, again. My cousins and my niece ordered pasta, cinnamon roll, a croffle, and soft serve ice cream. Our favorites are the pasta and the croffle. Wood and Coffee is also on our list of Best Matcha in Davao. He recommends the Concrete Matcha.

This was a short day. We only visited 2 cafes but it was a good start to a long and productive year of cafe hopping, and foodie adventures, and more.

Do you have suggestions or recommendations for us? We would love to try new things, discover underrated food spots. And taste unique dishes.
