Wanted: BOYFRIEND Part 2

Last year, out of boredom and a bit of desperation, I launched a Wanted: Boyfriend campaign which was a super FAIL. Anyhow... This year, I'm launching a similar campaign for my friend Junelle... Junelle is my age, 26 years old and a single mom of two. She is an only child who now works as the manager of a small team of web developers, graphic artists, web masters, and SEO practitioners. She is also a blogger, and online almost 24 hours a day. Junelle is looking for a fair-skinned guy who is at least 5'7 tall, FAT (yeahaaa!), and older than her (>27) who has a pleasing personality and is a loving boyfriend, and NOT A PLAYBOY! She also wants a guy who is already a professional. So if you are the guy Junelle is looking for, or you know somebody who will fit the bill, please reply in this blog entry, or write a blog entry about you (or whoever the potential bf is) and link back to this entry. WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?! Let's moves those asses and find Junelle a boyfriend.

Never Been This Un-Emo

Yes, yes, yes... life has been good lately. Despite the unexpected kinks, and several minor problems I am facing (or choosing to ignore) right now, I have never been this un-emo. This blog, as with most of my other personal blogs, started out of angst and thrived on my many whines, rants, and anger towards people and my life. But lookie... I am smiling right now. I don't have a family (not in the way many people have), and I don't even have a boyfriend. But am I am moving on with a great big smile on my face. As I have shown in my Nokia video (of FAIL coz it was so shaky people got dizzy every time they'd watch it), I have so many things going on in my life right now, that I do not have much time to be angry or sad anymore. Which is also prolly why I don't have much reason to blog here anymore. Life is still full of sorrow and pains and yes, HATRED! But what the hell, I got my work, I got my friends, I got my relatives, I have my life to live. So screw the haters and flamers…

My PBA 2008 Thank You Speech

Last year, I was nominated for several categories, but wasn't even a finalist in any. I told myself, I'd be a finalist this year. And quickly forgot about that goal. But lo and behold, this year, three of my blogs were finalists for various categories. One blog which I am part owner of was also a finalist, and was, in fact, up against my other blog. Six of my posts were also finalists. I submitted entries for two sponsor awards. That give me around 12 chances to win. But I didn't win. NADA! Nonetheless, I would like to thank the following people: my cousins Kuya Andrew who helped me get started in blogging, and who continues to help me with the technical stuff, and Gwing who has taken over one of my blogs; Ate Aileen who inspires me to be a better blogger and person; Tita Janette who gave me the chance to be an iBlog speaker; MLQ3 and the Filipino Voices bloggers who inspire me to be a more responsible and conscientious political blogger Avatar Media colleagues Migs, Winston, and Blogie; all my blog readers, friends, mga ka-link exchange, fans, followers, flamers, and HATERS who give me a good…

Excited to Experience Abreeza

It is a known FACT that I am a big fan of the Ayala Malls. While in Manila, I am always (almost everyday) in Serendra or Greenbelt. Some people even tease me about it. So I am really excited that Ayala Land Inc. (ALI) has finally invested in Davao City. In a join venture with Anflocor of the Floirendos. Today was the ground-breaking of the 10 hectare property where ALI and Anflocor is building a mall, and BPO buildings in a property development project called Abreeza. Of course I am more excited with the mall, than the BPO. I was there during the press conference and I am excited to share that Robinsons will be anchor store of Abreeza. I am crossing my fingers that Abreeza will be as great and homey as Serendra and Greenbelt. :) An Ayala executive kept on emphasizing that Abreeza will not just be a functional mall, but an experiential one. It won't open until the last quarter of 2010 but I AM SUPER EXCITED already! :D

It's An Honor, Thank You!

{I might be busy this weekend so I am posting this early.} Two of my blogs are now finalists for the Philippine Blog Awards 2008. My DotAStrategy Blog is a finalist in the Hobby and Recreation category. And Chikadora, despite what critics say, is a finalist in the Entertainment category. I have browsed through some of the other contenders and I am proud to be one of them, and even prouder that somebody considered my blogs worthy of their time by nominating it. Moreover, this blog, Life with Ria is eligible to be a finalist and maybe win (but I am not counting on it) in the Personal category. I have two other blogs that were nominated, but I am not expecting any more than I have already received. I am happy to have at least one blog being a finalist. Being nominated is an achievement in itself. A nomination, IMHO, means there is at least one person out there happy with the work I have done, and that to me is already an achievement. So thank you! Congratulations to all the other nominees and finalists! And an extra special congratulations to the winners, whoever they are! Congratulations also to…

Watch It, Badet

The lady standing in front of you is Ria Jose ang babaeng di mo pwedeng hawakan kasi baka di mo na bitawan from the Land of Durian and Waling-Waling, DAVAO CITEH! (The lady standing in front of you is Ria Jose girl you cannot hold because you might not let go of her from the Land of Durian and Waling-Waling, DAVAO CITEH!) I am totally stealing that line from Thank You Girls, a movie you must, must, must watch. It fun, funny, and light-hearted with some moments na nagmo-moment. The movie is full of LOL moments, especially the "question and answer portion" of the pageant. It's not just for the badets, it's for everybody. Plus, you get to pick up some very witty one-liners. :) Much love to Charliebebs Gohetia and the DavaoeƱo team that produced this fun film!!! So if you want to know the answer to this question: "If you are a teacher, how would you define the color violet to the visually-impaired?" watch the Thank You Girls, a Davao film, showing at the Robinsons Galleria IndieSine from September 24 to 30. Complete screening schedule available at THE Bakla's blog. Thank you girls! :D
