GO ATENEO!!!

I was at work while the game was on going. But I'm blessed to be following the Sexy Mom on Twitter so I got regular updates. Then, midway through the second quarter, I realized that Marc (he's a Davaoeño blogger) was live blogging. It was an intense afternoon waiting for updates from both Dine and Marc. I really, really though the DLSU Green Archers was going to win. I was shocked (BUT VERY HAPPY) when I learned that the Ateneo Blue Eagles won. YEY!!! Next game is on Sunday... GO ATENEO!!!

Before I Comment…

I am not too fond of commenting on other people's blogs unless I feel like I really, really have to say what I want to say. So when another commenter has already sufficiently said what I want to say, I don't comment anymore. When I don't fully understand what the entry is all about, I don't comment. When I feel like the entry and the issue is not worth the bother, I don't comment. When I think that too much has been said already and the issue is getting out of control, I usually don't comment. The point is I only comment when I think I can contribute something substantial to the discussion. I also never comment if I didn't read carefully the blog entry. Some dumb dumb stupidly commented on my About the Ria Jose page: hey, miss priss. :) you an’t a prof blogger. prof bloggers get moneh for their blogs. i don’t think you do. besides, you’re using wordpress, by golly wow. =)) Ummm... so... here's the part of the page where I wrote that I am a problogger: I am a teacher, a freelance writer, a marketing and PR consultant, and a professional blogger (I think).…

Tayo'y Dabawenyo

I didn't know that Davao City had an official song until I joined an essay-writing contest a few years ago and the organizers sang the song before the contest began. I was more surprised to know that most of the other participants knew the song. Now that I am employed by the Davao City government, I have to attend the weekly flag ceremony at the City Hall. And we sing this song at those ceremonies. I am trying to memorize the song. It's a beautiful song that depicts the natural wonders of the city and how as Davaoeños we should commit ourselves to serving the city.

Blogging for Beginners Presentation Version 1

Here's the unfinished first version of my Blogging for Beginners Presentation for my Blogging Workshops: It's not yet downloadable (SORRY) since it's a work in progress and I don't want people using it yet. But please browse through it, comment, criticize, give violent reactions, or bash me. I need and will appreciate everybody's help on this one. For bloggers, please offer your wisdom. Please suggest topics, links, articles, and other things that might help me improve the presentation. For non-bloggers, please give topics, issues, and questions you want me to address. Thank YOU!!! Many thanks to my cousins, Kuya Andrew, Gwing, and Luan who have already given their input! Much appreciation also to RJ, Andrea, and Jigs (who else pa?) who already browsed through it!

Davao Bloggers + Tour Operators Meet-Up

Image courtesy of Christian Te. Earlier today, Davao Bloggers had a very, very, very productive meet-up with some members of the Davao Association of Tour Operators (DATO). In attendance were me, Kuya Andrew, Blogie, Christian, and Dominic. We met up with Edmund of Travel Advantage, Alex of Pacific Royal Wings, Ruben of Surelite Travel and Tours, Pia of ParTravel and Tours, and Dizon of Dizerling Travel and Tours. I am super excited because I think the partnership between us bloggers and them tour operators will be very good for our common goal to promote travel and tourism in Davao City (and the rest of Mindanao). Read more about it over at My Davao City. Again, thank you to Coffee Spot for providing yummy, yummy, yummy food!!! Dreaming up a Dream House

When I moved out of our house, one of the things that entered my mind was of course having my own house someday. This would entail a lot, lot, lot of saving up. Imagine buying your own lot, paying for all the paperworks and legalities necessary. Then, paying the engineer, architect (but my friend says he's gonna do it for a discounted price, so thank you!), carpenters, electricians, and other installers and contractors. And then of course, there would also be costly construction materials: cement (whose prices are getting higher by the minute, I exaggerate but you get the point), lumber, nails, trusses, tiles, sinks, doorknobs, and what nots. And it being a home for a Queen (ehem*ME*ehem), it should have the nicest (but not necessarily expensive) furniture, appliances, and fixtures. And let's not forget the interior design. Did you that there PRC certified interior designers? I must hire one!!! And let him/her choose all the most tasteful linens, decors, ad infinitum. Me being the cooking freak that I am, I must, must, must have all the best kitchen fixtures, tools, and appliances. RAWRRR! Just think about it makes my head ache and my nose bleed. Writing about this makes…
